Siliguri, 10th December: Matigara police have arrested a youth on charges of bike theft and recovered the stolen two-wheeler from his possession. The arrested accused has been identified as Tayak Mohammad.
According to police sources, a bike belonging to Sanjay Sharma, a resident of Garidhura, Panikumari, was stolen from the Paribahan Nagar area of Matigara on the night of 28th November. Following the incident, the victim lodged a written complaint at the Matigara Police Station on 1st December.
Based on the complaint, police launched an investigation. During the probe, plainclothes personnel of the Matigara police arrested Tayak Mohammad from the Lenin Colony area. Acting on his arrest, the stolen bike was recovered from his residence.
The accused was produced in the Siliguri court. Further investigation into the case is currently underway.
