Bhorer Alo project: Prayers answered as 5 landless families of Gajoldoba finally get land to construct their houses

Rajganj, 05th February: After several days of protest, anger, and frustration, smiles were seen across the faces of the landowners of Gajoldoba, after they were provided with lands for the construction of their houses.

It was reported that a total of 14 families were evacuated for construction of the bridge at Bhorer Alo in Gajoldoba. Before the said families were evacuated, the Government had promised to provide compensation and land for housing. However, only 9 families were provided with land by the Government, a few days ago, while the rest 5 families were still landless.

During an administrative meeting in Gajoldoba, on Monday, the State Tourism Minister, Goutam Deb, was informed about the situation. Deb instructed the MLA of Rajganj and the Chairman of the Panchayat Samiti to solve the problems of landowners at the earliest. Purnima Roy, the President of Panchayat Samiti, then, held talks with the landowners and provided them with lands to build a house.
