Siliguri, 19th February: Bhakti Nagar police foiled a robbery bid near PC Mittal Bus Terminus in Siliguri and arrested four miscreants in connection with the incident.
According to police sources, based on a tip-off, officers came to know that around 10–12 miscreants had gathered in the area with the intention of committing a robbery. Police immediately conducted a raid and apprehended four individuals from the spot, while others managed to flee under the cover of darkness.
The arrested accused have been identified as Rajen Pandit, Mohammad Bipul Islam, Bhasha Rajvanshi Nedu and Arun Chhetri. Sharp weapons were reportedly recovered from their possession.
Police suspect that the group had assembled to carry out a major theft or robbery in the Bhakti Nagar area. A search operation is underway to nab the absconding accused.
