Siliguri, 4th June: A youth identified as Uttam Barman was arrested in a case of snatching from the Iskcon Road area under Bhakti Nagar police station of Siliguri Metropolitan Police.
Reportedly, a few days ago, an incident of snatching took place in the Iskcon Road area with a young woman, namely Neha Singh. After the incident, Neha lodged a written complaint regarding the matter in Bhakti Nagar police station.
Based on the complaint, Bhakti Nagar police started an investigation and arrested the accused Uttam Barman late Friday night on the basis of a tip. Reportedly, cases of theft and snatching have been registered against the accused in various police stations and outposts of Siliguri in the past also. The accused was produced in Jalpaiguri court today.
