Bengal to go on polls in 8 phases from March 27

Making it the longest ever polls in the state, West Bengal elections will be held in eight phases from March 27 to April 29 as per the Election Commission’s announcement on Friday.


Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Jalpaiguri districts will vote on the 5th phase of polling i.e. 17th April, 2021. Counting of votes for all five assembly elections will be conducted on 02nd May, 2021.

As per the information, the eight days of voting are:
1st Phase of Polling: 27th March
2nd Phase of Polling: 01st April
3rd Phase of Polling: 06th April
4th Phase of Polling: 10th April
5th Phase of Polling: 17th April
6th Phase of Polling: 22nd April
7th Phase of Polling: 26th April
8th Phase of Polling: 29th April
