Belakoba police launch drive against illegal liquor in Rajganj

Rajganj, 25th April: In a significant crackdown on illegal liquor production, Belakoba Police launched a campaign on the banks of the Suketi River inside the Dhoperhat forest of Shikarpur Gram Panchayat under Rajganj block.


During the operation, a substantial quantity of illicitly produced liquor and alcohol-making equipment was recovered. According to police sources, individuals had been secretly manufacturing liquor in the forested area, taking advantage of the remote location.

As part of the operation, authorities destroyed four furnaces and 280 liters of locally brewed liquor. Additionally, 40 liters of alcohol were recovered from the site. Police also seized eight aluminum utensils and four aluminum funnels used in the production process.


The accused managed to flee the scene by using the forest cover. However, efforts are underway to apprehend them, and a specific case has already been registered in connection with the incident.
