Bandh will not be accepted; action will be taken against enforcers: Siliguri Mayor

Siliguri, 28th August: As the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) called for a 12-hour bandh across West Bengal on Wednesday, party workers and supporters took to the streets in various parts of the state, including Siliguri, to enforce the shutdown.

In response, Siliguri Mayor Gautam Deb visited Hashmi Chowk (Venus More) to assess the situation in the city. The mayor firmly stated that the bandh would not be accepted in Siliguri. He warned that if anyone attempted to forcibly enforce the bandh, the police would take strict action against them.
