Siliguri, 27th May: In a recent development, the NJP police station has arrested an individual identified as Nizamuddin, a resident of Bihar, in connection with an attempted cattle trafficking operation. The arrest occurred during a raid conducted by the police on Sunday night near the Fulbari Bypass Toll Gate adjacent to Siliguri.
Police sources revealed that 26 cows were recovered from a container truck during the operation, based on a tip-off. The cattle were reportedly being transported from Ghoshpukur towards Jalpaiguri.
Following the arrest, the accused driver was presented before the Jalpaiguri District Court on Monday. The police are currently investigating the entire incident.
