Ashok Bhattacharya warns to file a case against the present Siliguri Municipality board

Siliguri, 30th August: Addressing a press conference at Anil Biswas Bhawan on Monday, Left leader Ashok Bhattacharya condemned the state for not holding any municipality election despite the term of the municipality board has expired. He accused the state government of running the municipality board in an unethical manner by appointing a city administrator.

Bhattacharya alleged that even though the term of various municipalities in the state has expired, the present Trinamool government is reluctant in appointing public representatives through elections. The Darjeeling District Left Front will apparently approach the high court demanding immediate expiration of the term of all municipalities. Meanwhile, all the information has already been sent to the former mayor of Kolkata and lawyer of Calcutta High Court Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya.
