Siliguri, 07th January: With winter tightening its grip and severe cold affecting daily life, underprivileged and helpless families are facing the harshest conditions. Stepping in to support them, police personnel from Ashighar outpost undertook a humanitarian initiative to distribute winter clothing among needy residents.
Under the leadership of Officer-in-Charge Mrinmoy Ghosh, police personnel visited several localities under the Ashighar Outpost jurisdiction and personally handed over winter clothes to underprivileged families. Other police officials from the outpost were also present during the initiative.
The beneficiary families expressed happiness and relief after receiving the winter essentials. Speaking on the occasion, OC Mrinmoy Ghosh said that similar humanitarian programmes would be continued in the coming days. He added that people in need of assistance should inform the police, assuring that efforts would be made to stand by the underprivileged and helpless whenever required.
