Kharibari, 17th November: A shocking robbery occurred at a lottery shop in the Thanjhora More area of Kharibari, where an armed assailant threatened the shopkeeper with a gun and fled with cash and lottery tickets. The incident left local shopkeepers in fear and sparked concerns over security in the area.
According to reports, the thief arrived on a motorcycle at the lottery shop in the Rupanjote area around the afternoon on Sunday. He pulled out a gun and threatened the ticket seller, demanding money and tickets. The assailant made off with approximately 7,000 to 8,000 rupees and several lottery tickets.
Witnesses reported that the thief had initially inquired about the location of a nearby petrol pump before pulling out the weapon and carrying out the robbery. Upon receiving the information, the Kharibari police arrived at the scene. Local shopkeepers are now demanding increased police patrols and the installation of CCTV cameras to ensure better security in the market area.
The police have initiated an investigation into the matter and are working to apprehend the suspect.
