Siliguri, 20th March: Sensational prevailed after several flyers against BJP’s Siliguri assembly candidate Shankar Ghosh were spotted in different areas of the city, on Friday.
It is to be noted that on March 18, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced the list of candidates for the Darjeeling and Jalpaiguri district assembly constituencies. Among the list, Shankar Ghosh, who recently quitted CPI(M), has been declared as the party’s candidate from Siliguri assembly.
On late Friday night, flyers bearing the name of Shankar Ghosh were spotted in different parts of the city including Hill Cart Road, Bidhan Road, Hospital More, and College Para. The flyers created a stir in the political arena.
Meanwhile, BJP candidate Shankar Ghosh did not give much importance to the issue and stated that he would inform Siliguri district organizational president Praveen Agarwal about the matter and also lodge a police complaint.
