Siliguri, 31st August: A large number of people gathered at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Seva Kendra of Siliguri MLA and State Tourism Minister Shankar Ghosh on Monday morning following complaints about not receiving payments under the Annapurna Yojana.
A day earlier, Shankar Ghosh had posted on social media that those eligible for the Annapurna Yojana but yet to receive the payment would definitely get it. He had also appealed to those facing any problems to visit the Seva Kendra and seek assistance.
Following the announcement, several women began arriving at the Seva Kendra from Monday morning with complaints related to their Annapurna Yojana payments. To manage the situation, personnel from Siliguri Police Station, including women police personnel, along with central forces were deployed at the spot.
