Siliguri, 08th December: In protest against rising incidents of violence against women and to demand dignity and justice, an Angikar Yatra organised by the group ‘Jago Nari Jago Bohnishikha’ will be held in Siliguri on Tuesday.
The rally will begin around 12 noon from Siliguri Junction. The parents of ‘Abhaya’ will be present during the rally. The procession will pass through various parts of the city and conclude at Baghajatin Park, where an inaugural meeting and a cultural programme have been planned.
‘Abhaya’s’ parents will also address the gathering at the concluding programme.
Sources said that apart from Siliguri, several prominent personalities from Cooch Behar, Alipurduar and other districts will also take part in the Angikar Yatra.
The yatra will run from 09th December to 16th December and will conclude at College Street in Kolkata.
