Siliguri, 18th October: Matigara Naxalbari assembly MLA Anandamoy Barman has been appointed as the new convener of Siliguri organizational district BJP. His name has already been announced for the new post on behalf of the party.
According to party sources, district BJP president Praveen Agarwal was absent from several party functions after the assembly elections. Therefore, BJP took this initiative to strengthen the organization before the municipality and sub-divisional council elections.
Anandamoy Barman said, “The party has given me a new responsibility. I was earlier the district general secretary of BJP. However, Praveen Agarwal will still remain the district president of the party. I am hoping for good results in the municipality and sub-divisional council elections. ”
Meanwhile, in the context of Praveen Agarwal being absent from various party events, Barman said that Agarwal has been traveling outside due to physical illness and business purposes. However, the team will proceed in Siliguri under his leadership.
