Siliguri, 30th January: The Bharatiya Janata Party has intensified its preparations for the upcoming West Bengal Assembly elections, with Union Home Minister Amit Shah arriving in Siliguri on Saturday as part of the party’s organisational strategy in North Bengal.
According to sources, Amit Shah will interact with around 6,000 BJP workers from five districts of North Bengal, where he will provide strategic guidance and organisational direction ahead of the Assembly elections. He is expected to share detailed inputs on campaign planning and organisational mobilisation.
After landing at Bagdogra Airport, the Home Minister will travel by road to Uttora Maidan near Gossainpur, where he will address a massive workers’ convention. Senior BJP leaders believe his address will energise party workers and strengthen organisational coordination in the region.
Security arrangements have been tightened ahead of the visit. A special security team from Delhi has already reached Siliguri and inspected the venue and stage preparations. Security agencies also conducted a trial run of the convoy route, with heightened police deployment in and around the venue.
BJP workers and leaders at district and state levels are actively overseeing preparations, while party supporters across the city are engaged in welcome arrangements with banners, posters and flags.
Amit Shah’s North Bengal visit has intensified political activity in the region, with wide anticipation over the strategic message and organisational direction he is expected to deliver at the workers’ convention, making the visit a significant political moment ahead of the Assembly elections.
