Kharibari, 03rd February: Residents have raised allegations of corruption in the road construction under the ‘Amader Para, Amader Samadhan’ project in Kauri Jote, Buraganj Gram Panchayat, Kharibari. A 300-meter paved road was reportedly started under the scheme, with the contractor completing work within a month.
However, locals complained that the entire road was not completed. They alleged that while the board mentioned 300 meters, it was later changed to 182 meters overnight, raising suspicions of malpractice. Residents expressed anger over the incomplete work and questioned the sudden changes to the project board.
Meanwhile, the BJP alleged that Trinamool Congress leaders were involved in the matter, while TMC said the incident happened because the road length was wrongly written on the board. Meanwhile, the Panchayat Pradhan Anita Singha stated that no formal complaint has been received yet, but the matter will be forwarded to the block administration for further action.
