Alipurduar, 19th August: A sigh of relief swept through the residents of Atiyabari Tea Estate in Alipurduar district after a fully grown male leopard was successfully captured.
According to sources, the incident unfolded on a Saturday morning when a leopard was captured within a cage placed by the Forest Department in Section No. 09 of the tea estate. Upon seeing the animal, the locals promptly alerted the forest authorities. The forest workers from the Nimti range arrived at the scene and transported the caged leopard to Rajabhat Khawa. The leopard will undergo preliminary medical treatment before being released back within the Buxa Tiger Reserve forest.
