Jalpaiguri, 20th December: Acting Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court, Justice Sujoy Paul, along with Justice Arijit Banerjee, inspected the permanent building of the Jalpaiguri Circuit Bench on Friday.
Sources said the formal inauguration of the permanent Circuit Bench building is scheduled for 17th January, for which preparations are already underway. As part of these arrangements, the Acting Chief Justice and other judges carried out a detailed inspection of the premises. Senior officials, including the High Court Registrar, the District Magistrate, and the Superintendent of Police, were present during the visit.
It is noteworthy that the Jalpaiguri Circuit Bench began functioning on a temporary basis in 2019. The permanent building has now been constructed on approximately 40 acres of land along National Highway 27 under the Paharpur Gram Panchayat area. The inauguration of the permanent building is slated for 17th January.
