Cooch Behar, 09th August: One person was killed and 20 others were injured after a pickup van overturned in the Mathabhanga Bengal Doi area while going to Jalpesh Mandir. The deceased has been identified as Sushmita Barman.
It has been learned that around 20-25 pilgrims left for Jalpesh mandir in a pickup van on Monday morning. On the way, the pickup van lost control and overturned in the said area. The injured individuals were rescued and rushed to Mathabhanga Sub-Divisional Hospital.
Meanwhile, the Mathabhanga police reached the spot after receiving the news. The police have started an investigation into the whole incident.
