Kharibari, 26th May: The All Bengal Electricity Consumers Association (ABECA) submitted a memorandum to Electricity Department in Kharibari, in support of several demands. In this regard, today, a rally was organized in which Darjeeling District Secretary Pranab Sarkar and Vice President Shyamal Sinha of ABECA, were present.
According to reports, the members of the organization took out a rally from the Kharibari market and reached the Electricity Department. Speaking in this regard, Pranab Sarkar said that the memorandum has been submitted in protest against the doubling of fixed charges, DC RC price hike, and introduction of prepaid meters.
