Abandoned temple becomes home for sick elderly man in Rajganj

Rajganj, 31st July: In a heart-wrenching scene, a 63-year-old man, Subhash Chakraborty, lies sick and unattended on the floor of an abandoned temple in Rajganj. Subhash, who once ran a shop near the Harihar Ashram, now spends his days in the temple of Harihar Ashram in Manuaganj area of Majhiali Gram Panchayat, Rajganj block.

As per details received, the unfortunate turn of events began a few months ago when Subhash fell while working, sustaining serious injuries. Initially treated at Rajganj Rural Hospital, he was later transferred to Jalpaiguri Super Specialty Hospital. Following this, he was admitted to North Bengal Medical College Hospital (NBMCH), where doctors diagnosed him with a nerve problem and recommended further treatment in Kolkata or another state.

Lacking the funds for advanced medical treatment, Subhash sought refuge in the temple. Despite having a wife and daughter, they live separately in a rented house in Jalpaiguri and are unaware of how to secure treatment for him. Thus, Subhash remains in the temple, battling his illness alone and unaided.
