Falakata, 12th April: Around 88 laborers were found evading the 21-day nationwide lockdown enforced since March 25 to contain the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak.
As per the report, the entire team was traveling to Rajasthan from Assam by hiding themselves in a lorry truck. The laborers would have got away unnoticed if the driver hadn’t fallen sick in the mid of the journey.
Upon receiving the news, the Falakata Police reached the spot and detained the gang under the charge of violating the strictly enforced social distancing norms. An investigation has been launched into the incident.
