Jalpaiguri, 26th January: Along with the rest of the country, the 77th Republic Day of India was celebrated with due dignity and solemnity in Jalpaiguri. On Monday morning, the national flag was hoisted by District Magistrate Shama Parveen at the Jalpaiguri Town Club ground.
The event was attended by Superintendent of Police Y Raghuvamshi, along with senior officials of the police and district administration. Students from various schools and colleges also participated in the programme.
A ceremonial parade was organized at the Town Club ground, with participation from different police units as well as school and college students. In addition, well-decorated tableaux from various government departments were displayed, highlighting developmental initiatives and themes of social awareness.
