Fulbari, 13th December: A tragic incident unfolded at the Jiaganj area under Fulbari-II Gram Panchayat adjacent to Siliguri where the deceased body of an elderly was found hanging from the noose in the bamboo groves near his residence. The deceased has been identified as Raghunath Roy (75), a local resident.
Family sources revealed that the deceased was mentally challenged for a long period. On Wednesday morning, the individual left home after having tea. However, his body was later found hanging from a bamboo tree near the house.
Following the incident, the NJP police station was notified. The police arrived, recovered the body, and transported it to the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for a post-mortem examination. At present, the cops are engaged in further investigation of the entire incident.
