Sukhia Pokhari, 17th July: 75 families, from different villages of Nagari-Dhaje Farm Tea Garden under Nagari-Dhaje Samashti (constituency) joined the Trinamool Congress, on Friday. The families initially belonged to the Binay Tamang faction Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM).
The new members were welcomed by Hill TMC sub-divisional President NB Khawas during a programme held in Dhaje Tea Garden under the chairmanship of DK Thapa.
In this context, NB Khawas stated that 55 percent of the people of Darjeeling Hills are gradually joining the Trinamool Congress after realizing other regional parties’ shallow diplomacies amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
