Alipurduar, 14th May: A wild elephant claimed the life of a 55-year-old woman named Mina Subba, a resident of the Gopal Bahadur Basty area in Alipurduar district.
As per the report, the incident took place when Mina Subba was on her way back home on Wednesday evening. Upon receiving the news, the Hamiltonganj Range officials reached the spot, recovered the body and sent it for an autopsy.
An investigation has been launched into the incident.
