Jalpaiguri, 08th July: Celebrating the 04th anniversary of ‘Safe Drive Save Life’ drive, a programme was organized today at Jalpaiguri Thana More on behalf of the district police. Minister Arup Biswas and IG of North Bengal State Police Vishal Garg inaugurated the event by lighting a lamp.
District Magistrate Abhishek Tiwari, DIG Jalpaiguri Range Kalyan Mukhopadhyay, Superintendent of Police Abhishek Modi, District-in-Council President Uttara Barman, Sadar SDO, and many other dignitaries were present during the programme. A motorbike rally was also organized to raise awareness regarding traffic rules.
Superintendent of Police Abhishek Modi stated that the ‘Safe Drive Save Life’ programme has helped reduce accidents by 25 percent. He further stated that from now on, bike riders must wear masks and helmets without fail.
