300 members left CPIM and other parties and joined TMC in Rajganj

Rajganj, 16th April: In yet another political shift, 300 workers have left other parties including Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPIM), and joined Trinamool Congress (TMC) from Borobari Hariyar Bari area under Majhiali Gram Panchayat of Rajganj Block under Jalpaiguri District.


Reportedly, on Tuesday, a ‘Yogdan Sabha’ was organised where Rajganj block TMC President Arindam Banerjee handed over party flags to the 300 workers. On the other hand, a candidate who contested from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Tapribhita village of Majhiali Gram Panchayat during Panchayat elections has extensively joined TMC on this day.

During this, Majhiali Gram Panchayat Pradhan Sumir Dutta, Rajanj Block TMC Minority Cell Committee President Firdos Alam, Dut Kumar Das, Sadekul Islam and others were present.


In this regard, Rajganj block TMC President Arindam Banerjee stated that seeing the development under the Chief Minister’s governance, about 300 individuals of Majhiali Gram Panchayat of Rajganj block extended support to TMC. He added that the addition has further strengthen the position of the party in the area ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
