Siliguri, 10th June: Based on a tip-off, the Pradhan Nagar police, on Tuesday night, launched an operation and arrested a man, identified as Mohammad Jabbar, along with 12 grams of brown sugar and 95 thousand rupees cash.
Meanwhile, Matigara police also arrested two men, identified as Ajay Barman and Ajay Shah, along with 30 grams of brown sugar from the Matigara police station area.
Upon interrogation, Mohammad Jabbar, the former accused confessed that Ajay Barman and Ajay Shah was going to deliver the drugs to him.
In this regard, DCP (Zone-2) Kunwar Bhushan Singh informed that Mohammad Jabbar had been associated with a smuggling racket in the past and was also arrested for the same.
The arrested were produced before the Siliguri court today. The police have been regularly launching operations to curb anti-social activities in the area.
