Siliguri, 16th January: Based on a tip-off, Police launched a campaign at the Dagapur Tea Estate area under Siliguri’s Pradhan Nagar police station and detained 20 people for gambling over rooster fight.
According to police sources, every Thursday the area turns into a gambling den. Locals allege that apart from gambling, people also indulge in alcohol. The locals breathed a sigh of relief after the police launched the campaign.
