Fulbari, 17th September: A 15-year-old schoolgirl was found dead at her home in Fulbari on Thursday, triggering shock in the area. The deceased has been identified as Barsha Sarkar, a Standard 9 student of Valmiki High School and a resident of Sriram Colony under Fulbari-II Gram Panchayat.
According to the family, Barsha woke up as usual on Thursday morning. After washing her face and hands, she spoke with family members and had tea and biscuits. She then went to her room and sat down with her books. A short while later, she was found dead inside the room.
Following the incident, police from New Jalpaiguri Police Station reached the spot. Police recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem examination. Police have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding her death.
News of Barsha’s death left her family and relatives mourning, while the incident has cast a pall of grief over the locality.
