Alipurduar, 15th August: The Shamuktala Deshbandhu Club organized an 11 km marathon on the 74th Independence Day of India.
The 11 km marathon commenced from Beltala of Turturi Gram Panchayat till Deshbandhu Club. Such an initiative was taken to boost the spirits of the general public.
Club member Dipankar Barman stated that 120 people participated in the competition.
Ripon Pandit, club secretary, stated that Ashik Khakha, Aniket Kujur, and Raju Oraon secured the first, second, and third positions respectively.
Besides, a 5 km race was organized for the children. Sourav Das, Amal Roy, and Ashiq Oran secured the first, second, and third positions respectively.
