Naxalbari, 25th February: Sensation ensued in Naxalbari late Friday night after 11 people were injured in a terrible accident. The incident has surfaced from the area of Naxalbari’s Khalpara More adjacent to Asian Highway-2.
Reportedly, an auto-rickshaw was heading towards Siliguri from Panitanki when it collided head-on with a speeding four-wheeler approaching from the opposite direction. Hearing the loud bang, the locals reached the spot and rescued the injured from the vehicle.
On the other hand, Naxalbari police and fire brigade reached the spot soon after getting the news of the incident. Two people got trapped in the auto in the incident and were later pulled out after a lot of effort. A total of 11 people have been injured in the said incident. They were initially taken to Naxalbari Hospital and were later sent to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. The police brought both the vehicles involved in the accident to the police station at night. The Naxalbari police are investigating the entire incident.
