Rajganj, 05th September: A tragic incident occurred during a ‘Dadhi-Kado’ celebration organised on the occasion of Janmashtami near Sahudangi in Rajganj, where a 10-year-old boy died after drowning. The incident took place at Kochu More in Paghalupara, near Sahudangi in Rajganj block.
According to local sources, a large-scale ‘Dadhi-Kado’ celebration was organised at Kochu More on the occasion of Janmashtami. The deceased, identified as 10-year-old Kaushik Bose from the Krishnanagar Colony area under Binnaguri Gram Panchayat in Rajganj, had gone to participate in the celebration.
During the event, the boy reportedly fell into a waterbody. He was rescued from the water after a considerable period and was immediately taken to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
The incident has cast a pall of grief over the area, with local residents left shocked by the tragedy amid the Janmashtami celebrations.
