Fulbari, 17th December: A distressing incident came to the fore where an unidentified body of a man was found lying deep in a ditch of the Fulbari Teesta Canal. The incident surfaced from Rajiv Para-Canal More area under the Fulbari-II Gram Panchayat and caused a stir in the entire region.
According to reports, a similar incident was previously reported where a body was recovered from the location. Subsequently, a few months later, the authorities discovered the body of another individual in the same location. Reportedly, the body was spotted in the ditch earlier on Sunday. Locals believe that the young man was murdered and his body was dumped deep in the trench. Meanwhile, the information was then handed to the authorities at the New Jalpaiguri (NJP) police station. Following this, the police arrived on the scene, recovered the body, and transported it to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for a post-mortem examination.
Significantly, the identification of the deceased could not be ascertained as of now. However, the local officials and citizens claimed that several individuals arrive at the location late at night in the influence of alcohol and drugs which leads to such crimes. At present, the entire incident is under further police investigation.
