Siliguri, 27th January: The Darjeeling District Yuva Congress and the Siliguri Vidhan Sabha Yuva Congress staged a protest against the hike in prices of essential commodities, petrol-diesel, and gas.
Reportedly, the leaders of the Darjeeling District Yuva Congress staged a sit-in protest by blocking the road at Siliguri’s Hashmi Chowk.
On the other hand, the Siliguri Vidhan Sabha Yuva Congress also staged a protest on the same issue. However, the police intervened the demonstration before it could reach Hashmi Chowk. Twelve Yuva Congress leaders were detained by the police in the incident.
