Rajganj, 18th January: Allegations have surfaced of cutting a youth’s ear for protesting against verbal abuse on Tuesday night in Bhelkipara under Binnaguri Gram Panchayat in Rajganj.
This morning the injured Deepak Roy lodged a written complaint against three youths in the area at Ambari Out Post. The accused have been identified as Ravi Roy, Badal Roy, and Shankar Roy. Reportedly, on Tuesday night three youths in the area were making indecent comments in front of Deepak Roy’s house. On opposing, it is alleged that the said three men thrashed Deepak. After this, a significant portion of Deepak’s ear was cut off by hitting his ear with a sharp weapon. When his neighbours reached the spot, the accused fled away. Later Deepak Roy was taken to Rajganj Rural Hospital.
On Wednesday morning, Deepak Roy filed a complaint at the police station against the three accused concerning the whole incident. The police have started searching for the accused. However, on the other hand, the accused’s family claims that a fight broke out among the men after they consumed alcohol.
