Siliguri, 29th September: Sensation prevailed after the body of a youth was found at the Panchanai River near Tulsi Nagar in Matigara. The deceased has been identified as Anil Sahni (25), a resident of South Ambedkar Colony of Ward No 1 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC).
As per reports, on Friday morning, the locals of the Tulsi Nagar area spotted the body of a young man in the river. Immediately, the matter was reported Matigara police station. Upon receiving the news, police arrived at the spot, recovered the body from the river, and sent it to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for post-mortem examination.
In this regard, the locals alleged murder and stated that drug abusers hang out on the bank of the Panchanai River during the night. They added that it is impossible to drown in such a low volume of water.
