Youth’s body found in Bania Para near Sahudangi; family alleges murder, investigation underway

Rajganj, 19th June: The body of a young man was found near the road in Bania Para, adjacent to Sahudangi, sparking allegations of murder from the family and causing tension in the area. The deceased has been identified as Biman Das (20), a resident of Birban area in Binnaguri Gram Panchayat (GP).


Reportedly, on Wednesday morning, the body was found near the railway flyover on the Fulbari-Gajoldoba canal road in Sahudangi. The discovery led to local residents briefly blocking the road in protest. The blockade was lifted after police assured action.

As per local and family sources, Biman Das, son of Hansdhar Das, worked at a courier company warehouse in Sahudangi. He left work at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday but did not return home. His family searched for him throughout the night but found no trace. His body was found the next morning near the railway flyover on Canal Road, not far from home.


Local residents and family members have alleged that Das was murdered. Gram Panchayat Pradhan Samijuddin Ahmed, who visited the scene, also suspected foul play.

A significant police contingent from Bhorer Alo police station and Ambari Outpost arrived at the scene. The body was sent to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for a post-mortem examination. An investigation into the incident has been launched.
