Siliguri, 16th January: A youth was critically injured in a knife attack in the Ghogomali area under Ashighar Outpost on Thursday night.
According to reports, a youth named Tapan allegedly attacked Mohammad Tajul, stabbing him in the neck. The incident caused widespread panic and tension in the locality.
Local sources said the attack stemmed from a dispute between Tapan and MD Tajul that began earlier in the day. The incident took place at night during a program at Ghogomali field, which Tajul was attending with a few friends.
Eyewitnesses claimed that Tapan suddenly appeared at the venue and carried out the stabbing. The injured youth’s family later lodged a police complaint with local authorities.
