Siliguri, 07th December: A heart-warming incident came to the fore where a mentally challenged youth missing from Uttar Pradesh (UP) was reunited with his family with the aid of the mobile number imprinted on his hand. Significantly, the officials of the Siliguri police station played a significant role in the case.
According to reports, Mohammad Arman, a Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh resident, was spotted wandering at the Hashmi Chowk (Venus More) area in Siliguri. Initially, when the Toto drivers approached him, the young man could not respond. Subsequently, ASI Haren Mahanto of the Siliguri police station, on patrol duty was informed of the incident. Following this, ASI Haren Mahanto brought the youth to the police station. Upon contacting the mobile number, ASI Haren Mahanto discovered that the individual was Taufiq Ahmed’s son, a Uttar Pradesh resident, and had been reported missing since December 2. The youth’s father was then asked to travel to Siliguri.
Meanwhile, the boy’s father and uncle arrived at the Siliguri police station to receive their son. Following the legal proceedings, Taufiq Ahmed was given custody of his missing son by the Siliguri police station. Concurrently, they both expressed their kind gratitude towards the Siliguri police station, including ASI Haren Mahanto, for reuniting them with their missing son.
