Siliguri, 15th May: Sensation prevailed after a youth, on Friday morning, jumped off the Mahananda bridge in Siliguri’s Noukaghat area. The youth, identified as Laltu Basfar, is a resident of the Suryasen colony D-block area.
As per the information, Laltu suffered severe injuries in his waist area due to the low water depth. Upon receiving the news, the NJP Police reached the spot shortly after, rescued him and rushed him to the North Bengal Medical College-Hospital.
An investigation has been launched into the incident.
