Siliguri, 04th April: A youth was allegedly attacked with a glass bottle by another youth in Shahid Colony under NJP Police Station in Ward No. 34, Siliguri. The victim, identified as Bidyut Dey, was seriously injured in the incident.
According to local sources, on Friday evening, following an argument over some matter, Tilshankar Mukhiya assaulted Bidyut Dey. He was hit on various parts of his body with a glass bottle.
Bidyut Dey collapsed at the scene in a bloodied state. Local residents quickly rescued him and took him to Siliguri District Hospital. Due to the worsening of his condition, he was later admitted to a private nursing home in Siliguri.
After the incident, the accused, Tilshankar Mukhiya, fled the scene. NJP Police reached the spot and have started a search operation to find him.
