Siliguri, 17th November: A youth from Nepal, identified as Arun Biswakarma from Jhapa district, was arrested in Siliguri with a firearm. The accused had been living in a rented house in Sukanta Pally for the past few days.
On Sunday night, Pradhan Nagar Police received a tip-off that a youth was roaming near Siliguri Junction with a firearm. Acting on the information, police reached the spot and found Arun Biswakarma behaving suspiciously. He was detained, and during the search, officers recovered a firearm along with two live ammunition from his possession.
Arun Biswakarma was taken into custody and produced before the Siliguri court on Monday.
