Fulbari, 04th March: In a tragic incident, a youth was found hanging just two months before his formal marriage, creating a stir in the Joy Nagar Colony area of Purba Dhantala under Fulbari II Gram Panchayat. The incident took place on Tuesday morning, and the deceased has been identified as Mithun Chakraborty (28).
According to reports, Mithun worked at a garments store in the Babupara area of Siliguri. He had already registered his marriage with a young woman from Fulbari and was set to have a formal wedding in the upcoming month of ‘Baisakh’ as per social customs.
On Monday night, Mithun returned home from work, had dinner, and went to sleep. The following morning, his family discovered him hanging. It is suspected that the incident may be linked to some family unrest.
Upon receiving the news, the New Jalpaiguri Police Station personnel reached the spot. The police recovered the body and sent it to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for autopsy. An investigation has been initiated into the matter.
