Bagdogra, 04th January: A youth was found dead under mysterious circumstances behind the Suswasthya Kendra in Gossainpur, Noyanpara, Bagdogra, creating concern in the locality. The deceased has been identified as Abhi Guha (32), also known as Gora, who was staying in a rented house in Putimari, Bagdogra.
According to sources, a small drinking gathering took place behind the centre on Saturday night. Locals discovered the youth’s body in the morning and alerted the police. Bagdogra police recovered the body and sent it to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for post-mortem.
Police recovered several items from the scene, including water bottles, glasses, and a cap. The exact cause of death is not yet clear. Bagdogra police have launched an investigation into the incident.
Biswajit Ghosh, Upa Pradhan of Lower Bagdogra Gram Panchayat, said the matter of drinking behind the Suswasthya Kendra will be reported to the police administration.
