Siliguri, 22nd May: A youth of Bagdogra’s Gosaipur area, along with his family members, is being frequently attacked by hooligans since the day he opposed drug use in the locality.
According to the information, a group of addicts had gathered near the Gosaipur railway quarters and were doing drugs. On spotting them, a local youth Nitish Kumar Paswan had opposed on May 19. The following day, a group of addicts attacked Nitish, seriously injuring him. Nitish later lodged a complaint at the Bagdogra police station.
Matters went out of hand when once again Nitish’s younger brother was beaten up by the hooligans and robbed him too. Following this, Nitish along with the locals protested outside the Bagdogra police station.
Nitish accused the police of keeping mum and putting a blind eye on the entire incident. He filed yet another complaint at the police station regarding today’s incident.
