Alipurduar, 01st November: A youth drowned to death in a pond in South Devgaon area under Falakata block of Alipurduar district. The deceased has been identified as Shyamal Murmu.
Reportedly this morning Shyamal had left the house after drinking tea. Upon not returning home till noon, the family started to search for him. While searching, the relatives found Shyamal’s shoe near a pond. Following this, his body was recovered from the pond.
The incident was then informed to the Falakata police. On receiving the news, the police reached the spot and recovered the body. Today the body was sent to Alipurduar District Hospital for postmortem.
