Siliguri, 08th March: A tragic accident claimed the life of a youth who was hit by an oil tanker near Bengal Safari Park in Siliguri. The identity of the deceased remains unknown as of now.
According to police sources, the incident occurred on Saturday when an oil tanker was traveling from Siliguri to Sevoke. During this time, the youth was crossing the road near Bengal Safari Park when the speeding tanker struck him, leaving him seriously injured.
Upon receiving the news, the police from Bengal Safari Traffic Point rushed to the scene, rescued the injured youth, and took him to Siliguri District Hospital. Unfortunately, the doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
Meanwhile, Bhakti Nagar police station officials reached the spot and seized the oil tanker driver. The police have started an investigation into the incident.
